Smart cities mission is in urban renewal and refitting program with the mission to develop smart cities across the country malding theme citizen friendly and sustainable. The mission was launched in 2015 the union ministry of housing and urban affairs in responsible for implementing the mission is collaboration with the the state government of the respective cities. The mission initially include 100 cities with the deadline for completion of the project set between  2019-and2023.
